Pasta alla Norma with fried eggplant, sweet tomato sauce, basil, and grated salted ricotta; busiate twisted pasta with almonds, tomatoes, and garlic (pesto alla trapanese); or saffron-and-fennel pasta con le sarde with pine nuts and wild mountain greens (€9–€14). In southern Italy's sun-drenched climate around Acate, kitchens rely on cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil, durum-wheat semolina pasta, wild oregano, capers, and wood-fired bread ovens.

Evening street markets and piazza bakeries stay lively past 10:00 PM. In a town the size of Acate (pop. 11,431), expect a central bar-caffè, a local panificio/alimentari, and a few family-run trattorie or pizzerie serving Ragusa residents (check hours ahead, as small-town kitchens often close one or two weekdays).
